PAINTING THE WORLD WITH SOUND
We are working on providing a compact solution to ease your daily journey without sacrificing your independence.

About SoundSense
SoundSense comes from a small team in Sydney, Australia that is passionate about perception and simple solutions.

Our goal is to help people with visual impairment have an easier time understanding and moving around unfamiliar surroundings.

We are currently developing a compact worn device that plays in real time a soundscape of the environment back to the user. Watch the video below to hear more about the potential of this technology.
Team
Jonathan Hribar
Founder and Lead Director of SoundSense

Jonathan's background is in mechatronics and medical technology and he has an obsession with everything visual. This has taken him to management and consulting roles in various projects for Vivid Sydney, an annual lights festival requiring large scale design, simulation and rendering. He is now applying these skills to the medical field to create novel assistance technology for people with visual impairment.
Junji Moey
Director of Technology & Research

Junji is an IT and robotics engineer with a deep knowledge of both computer vision and soundscape design. Along with Jonathan, this has led him to consulting and managing various projects for Vivid Sydney. He is now applying his skills to leading the research and development of a simple solution to ease the daily lives of the visually impaired.
Ben Laulan-Souilhac
Director of Strategy & Product

With a post graduate in quantitative finance under his belt, Ben is addicted to analysis and finding business solutions for the international stage. He is now turning his attention towards the complex ecosystem of medical assistive technology to build the simplest delivery possible for SoundSense's end users.
Anand Aji
Engineer

Anand's background is in biotechnology and bioinformatics. His past research has led him to finding solutions that use computational design for the biological assembly of biosensors. He is now seeking to develop and implement SoundSense's technology for the betterment of those living with seeing impairment.
Emily Luo
Preethom Pal
Market Analyst

While Emily's background is in biomedical engineering, she is using her research and liaising skills to understand and a build a relationship with SoundSense's target market. Her work has brought us several heavy hitting contacts, including those from Blind Citizens Australia, CSIRO, Macquarie Uni and UNSW.
Research Scientist

Preethom's background is in neuroscience and computer science. He is most interested in perception and how technology can be used to aid our senses. He is now lending his skills in research to develop SoundSense's understanding and utilisation of hearing and spatial perception.
